WHY BENDINGS? BEndings is a smash-up of the words beginnings and endings. In every phase of our life we encounter both an ending and beginning. It is within that time of shifting that we are given the opportunity to choose who we will BE.

In combining the words, bending stuck out as an appropriate verb for what so many of us do throughout our lives. We bend ourselves to fit in to the social norm, to get the job, to avoid the hard things, to be accepted, and to be seen. Every time we bend ourselves— a story is created, an image is born, a melody is written.

The work here is about that. It’s about the moment when we both end and begin. The moment when we bend. The moment that defines who we will BE.

BEndings Publishing LLC uses AI as a practical small-business tool for administrative work, data analysis, marketing support, limited email and communication support and some social media framing.

But we draw a clear line around core artistic work.

We do not use AI to replace human artists, editors, book designers, photographers or creative professionals in the creation of manuscripts, book covers, illustrations, music, or the central creative work of a publishing project. When possible, we use professional photographers, original photographs, or real-life source images for illustrative purposes. Manuscripts are researched using traditional methods and written by the author. They are then shaped through a traditional editorial process with professional editors, proofreaders, and advanced readers. Our book covers are created by human artists, resulting in real works of art that hang on our office walls.

While we believe responsible use of modern technology aids in expanding our reach, we do not believe our voice should be anything other than human. That will remain part of the identity of BEndings Publishing LLC.
